James Hodgson: taking Michael Atherton's wicket

I played in the Cambridge team whilst I was doing a one year teacher training course (PGCE) at Hughes Hall and have still not had the willpower to question whether my finest moment was in fact a phoney one!  A very ordinary off-spinner / batsman, I managed to con a few out from time to time, but my most prized wicket was Mike Atherton, at a time when he was captaining England.  Wonderfully, there it was in the scorebook.  Atherton: stumped Cooke, bowled Hodgson 86, at 2.50pm on Saturday 14 May 1994.  I still have the match ball; and I am guessing that not many others got Atherton out stumped, as he rarely left his crease.  The next day in the papers, it was reported that Atherton was a Manchester United supporter.  3pm on May 14th had been kick off in the 1994 FA Cup Final.  Manchester United beat Chelsea 4-0, with a well-known supporter watching from the Fenners dressing room.
