A collection of Gloucestershire memories

Great memory of Gloucester's B&H Super Cup Final at Lord's in 1999 and bowling Michael Vaughan through the gate on our way to victory. Martyn Ball Via Twitter @BallMartyn

Gloucestershire beat Yorkshire by 124 runs, Martyn taking 3-39 from his 10 overs.

My first memory is sat on the extremely uncomfortable wooden benches on the now Mound Stand side of the ground . The mid 70's , Procter , Zaheer , Sadiq et all . Warm summer school holidays eating cucumber sandwiches with my Grandad . I was hooked ! And have been ever since ! The Lords final of 1977. Taking everything in (as an 11 year old) . The raising of the B & H cup sending shivers down my spine. The subsequent Lord's trips in later years and introducing my family - who are all proud members of the club .Martyn Howlett

Gloucestershire beating Somerset to win another one day trophy at Lord's, with the sun shining and crowd roaring. A great team performance and friendly rivalry - a great day! Dominic Carter

Going to Lord's for the one day trophy with Gloucestershire v Somerset. Great day, much excitement, standing on the grass in front of the Pavilion Roger Carter

Mike Procter's hat trick at the Benson & Hedges Semi Final at Southampton - Hampshire v Gloucestershire David Brassington

Glos v West Indies,1957. David Smith bowled the tourists out for about 250 with 6 wkts., 5 bowled from Ashley Down end including Gary Sobers for nought. The great Everton Weekes scored 50. Later in the day Gary Sobers came around the ground with a collection box for the Glos beneficiary & I got his autograph. Of course, he was only about 19 & an unknown in England. Frank Britton

I became a Gloster fan after watching the great game that finished in the dark Lancs v Glos early 70s, who could ever forget the wonderful Mike Procter steaming in, a real villain to the crowd that night. Ever since Glos have been my team. I've seen them win cup finals but never the championship but we came so so close when a last day defeat v Hants thwarted us in the 80s, Procky was magnificent again with both bat and ball. Tony Lewis Manchester. ( ex Wolves )

I was there! [at the semi-final v. Lancs] Sat on the grass because the stands were full.It seems strange now that a 120 over game could attract such a huge crowd and keep everyone enthralled to the end. In an era of short attention spans it appears that 20/20 is all the public can manage these days! My abiding memory was seeing Proctor running in like a whirlwind bowling off the wrong foot. I had never seen a ball bowled so fast. I carried on watching Lancashire to the late 90's before moving too far away to be able to travel to see them regulary. Favourite Lancs players- Graeme Fowler,Clive Lloyd,Barry Wood,Gehan Mendis. Just discovered the Cricket Archives website and unearthed many lost games I attended, but had half forgotten about.
