A Collection of Charity Cricket memories

I played in a charity cricket match in 2003 at Fenners and our team included stars such as Alvin Kallicharran and a certain Sir Viv Richards. I took my son along, then aged 7, and told him he would see one of, if not, the best batsman ever. I took my kit to the changing room, son in tow, and opened the door to an empty changing room apart from Sir IVAR sitting in the corner re-threading the laces on his boots. What a player! He got 60 on the day as did Alvin K. Edward Dodson

Whilst watching a match between 'Lashings' and Bromley CC we were having our picnic on the boundary, when Phil Tufnell, who was fielding at the time, came and sat with us and shared our food and drink, which made his fielding very interesting. He was off field for so long, the Lashings captain had to call for him in the field. I telephoned a friend to tell her that he was sitting with us and Phil took the phone and conversed with my friend! Gillian McDonald

1990, Matt Root bowling in Eldon Baptiste testimonial game getting Viv Richards out! Sir Viv hit 24 off 4 and was caught by a very tall man! #lucky Helen Root ........on a very long boundary! Matt Root

My favourite memory was Sunday 22nd June 2014 as I watched the rematch of the first game played at Lord's. Brian Lara was outstanding and I managed to get his autograph, also we were allowed to walk on the famous pitch. Amazing. Something I will always remember. A great day out with great cricket.
