In 1971 David Hughes hit 24 from a John Mortimore over, 25 still being needed to pass Gloucestershire's total of 229. Lancashire won by 3 wickets.

Lancs v Warwicks Gillette Cup Final in 1972, Clive Lloyd's century. Gil Howarth

Clive Lloyd hit 126 as Lancashire passed Warwickshire's total of 234: the next highest score was 35

Lancashire winning the County Championship for the first time in over 70 years. The match was against Somerset at Taunton and I was there for the last day with my younger son, and at the end went on to the pitch with the players. Will it be another 70 years? Nigel Duffin
