A Collection of West Indies memories

I remember coming to the first ever Cricket World Cup Final at Lord's in 1975. It was very exciting and a close game. We sat at the front of the Grand Stand, but in the last few overs the crowd were all standing at the match between Australia and the West Indies was so exciting, and the crowd started to overflow in to the playing area! At the end of the match we were all allowed on to the field to stand in front of the pavilion to applaud the victorious West Indian team, and the gallant losers (Australia)! Allen Astles

West Indies victory in the first Cricket World Cup. Garry Hawkins

In the first World Cup Final West Indies beat Australia by 17 runs, but only after Jeff Thomson and Dennis Lillee had added 41 for the last Australian wicket

One of my most treasured is seeing Viv score 189 N.O at Old Trafford 1984 - amazing stroke play all done in a cap! #thebest Mark Ramprakash Twitter @MarkRamprakash

Watching Tony Greig playing at The Oval against the West Indies in a Test match. The steel drums were very noisy. Getting my cricket bat signed by Rohan Kanhai a West Indian International. Clare Deering

Gordon Greenidge Lord's 1984. 214 not out to chase over 340 in 60 overs. Belligerent brilliance from my favourite batsman. Legend! David Fulton Via Twitter @DaveTavFulton

In the Lord's Test of 1984 Gordon Greenidge scored 214 not out as West Indies reached their victory target of 342 with 12 overs to spare.
