As a teenager I was called to the Yorkshire County Cricket Club 'nets' at Easter. I used to bowl at Padgett, Close, Boycott, Sharpe, Wilson, Trueman, Nicholson, Taylor... They were stiff from winter 'rest' and I helped them get their eye in for the season.
